Our first natural gas combined cycle power plant in Uzbekistan, located in the capital city Tashkent, has an installed capacity of 240 megawatts and commenced commercial operations in May 2022. Built on a 37,000-square-meter site, the plant was completed within just one year. When operating at full capacity, it can supply electricity to approximately 700,000 households. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the facility is capable of reaching full load in a very short time, thanks to its flexible generation capabilities. The Tashkent plant employs 100 people, 85 of whom are from Uzbekistan. The official opening ceremony was held with the participation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of the Republic of Türkiye. As a critical contributor to Uzbekistan’s energy supply security, the Tashkent plant plays a vital role in meeting the country’s growing electricity demand.
